This rod is at the lower price end of the Grauvell Vertix range but do not be fooled by the price, you are getting a lot of rod for your money. Coming in 3 sections the rod is stored in a black cloth bag for travelling to and from the beach. The blank is made of a high power carbon and is rated from 100 – 200 grams and the tip is of the mixed tip variety meaning it has a much softer action for increased bite indication. The reel seat is a Vertix screw reel seat meaning your reel is kept safely locked in place when fishing and the blank is finished off beautifully with S.I.C low rider guides.

I have had this rod for a few months now and I have to say it is great fun to use, the style of rod itself fits perfectly into the type of fishing I do with superlight lines and scratching tactics. The rod itself is very nice to look at, first impressions are everything as they say and when you first set eyes on this rod you will be impressed, the deep red colour of the blank along with the S.I.C low rider guides make this very easy on the eye and with the white tip bites are very easily spotted.

This rod is in my eyes perfectly suited for clean to mixed ground, I have cast up to 6oz and bait but I would say optimum for this rod is 3-5oz and bait, this is where it will work perfectly well and keep you smiling from ear to ear. The mixed tip on this rod is very good, I love fishing with it using scratching tactics and even the smallest flounder will make the tip twitch nicely. I would not suggest using this rod in areas of massive tide run, it is not designed for that, but as said before on the right ground and with not too much tide run this rod is a joy to use.

Overall for the money this rod is amazing, whether you want a rod for scratching about specifically for flatties or just a general fixed spool beach caster I would highly recommend this rod, also I would say for anybody wanting to try out the fixed spool continental style this is an ideal first rod to ease into the scene.
