The little brother of the amazing Vertix Eclipse rod, with a blank made of 46 ton Japanese whisker carbon this is another lightweight beauty of a rod from the Vertix stable. Finished off in a sleek black colour, this rod comes in a cloth bag within a hard carry case to ensure the rod is safe on the way to and from the beach. With an amazing hybrid tip the bite indication on this rod is phenomenal and with the Vitesse name (meaning speed) the casting power of this beauty is extremely good, when smashing leads off the ground the recovery of the blank is out of this world. With this rod being another one of the top end of the Vertix range it is yet again finished off with titanium Torzite rings, only the best will do when making a rod of this calibre.

I have had this rod since it was released at the back end of 2017, when I first received it I could tell it was a stiffer blank than the Eclipse I was already using and I couldn’t wait to get out on the beach using it. With me receiving it in the depths of an East coast winter it was first only used for dab fishing, and with the super light tactics I was using it coped perfectly. Showing up the most finicky of bites from the smallest of flatfish and whiting.

As time has progressed I have used this rod in rough ground, smacking out 6oz and picking up smooth hounds and rays and it performed superbly, the extra strength in the middle section really telling over its superlight brother the Eclipse and I have used it over clean ground trundling a rolling lead around picking up small fish using light tactics where it was equally as good. The Vitesse is a very impressive beast, one of my main rods that I use for a mixed variety of fishing, the only place I haven’t tried using it is off rocks into seriously snaggy ground but I’m planning to give it a go in the very near future just to see how it copes.

Overall this rod is another masterpiece from Grauvell, with wicked bite indication and an amazing blank this is a cracking fixed spool all rounder and with the looks of a stealth fighter this is one brute you don’t want slipping under your radar when looking for your next rod.
